I created my first radio show when I was 7 years old.
My friend and I spent many an afternoon recording short segments where we played various roles (famous stars, journalists, people from the street). No internet back then. No mp3s. Not even mini-discs… Plain ol’ cassettes.
Fast forward many years later and you could say my little dream came true in unexpected ways. First, I became a voiceover artist in London in 1998, and landed many fun, high-profiled jobs. But my dream job arrived in 2014, when I was cast as the voice of Xuli in the GoJetters.
Being opinionated, full of performance energy and an introvert led me to fall in love with podcasting as a medium. In July 2014, I launched my first show, the Spain Uncovered podcast, to learn as much as I could about podcasting – I learn best through experimentation and have self-taught myself through many of my adventures.
Now, in 2021, I am about to reach episode 300 of the 21st Century Work Life podcast, and am the co-host of Facilitation Stories and My Pocket Psych. I also podcast with my friend Tomás (not the same one I recorded with into tapes!), in Spanish, over at Gastronostalgia.
Parallel to my voiceover career, I was an actress, ran a theatre company and became a corporate trainer and facilitator. (You can check out what I do now helping managers of remote teams here.)
So it makes sense to fuse my parallel careers into Adventures in Podcasting, helping fellow trainers, coaches and facilitators start their first show. If you’re looking for help, drop me a note. I’d love to hear from you.
